"The Shot" - Acrylic Paint / 16x20 / 2004 - autographed by Keith Smart |

At left, are some of the first few pictures I took of this painting. As you can see, first, I added the background, painted the base for the basketball court, and put the basics of the basket in. I then, started to put in some of the crowd, the referees, and the IU bench. |

Here, I've added more of the crowd, added a few sportswriters behind the bench, and started to put in Bobby Knight. I've also started to add some photographers to the baseline. I then move forward and finish the crowd, and add the rest of the Hoosiers bench -- followed by adding the players on the court and the ball in the air. At this point, it's really starting to come together. |

These are two of my latest pictures I've taken. At left, you can see I've added more detail to the players, the floor, the players' uniforms, and everything in general. At right, is a bit of a close-up of the scene under the basket. I'm still putting the finishing touches on all the players, and especially Keith Smart -- as he's the focus of the painting. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated with the finished product very soon. Thanks for keeping watch! |

Well, now that I've finally delivered my brother's painting, I can reveal the final couple of pictures of the painting. You see, I arranged to have the painting autographed by Keith Smart himself, now an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors. On that note, I'd like to thank Rebecca personally for helping to make that happen, so, thank you Rebecca, for all your help, and Mr. Smart, thanks for signing it for my brother, he loved it. So, here are the final two pictures of "The Shot" for your viewing pleasure. Click on either picture to see an enlarged picture of it. |
