This is another
watercolor project, that will along hand-and-hand with the Rickie Weeks
watercolor. This one, features Milwaukee Brewer top prospect,
Prince Fielder -- yes, son of former Major League slugger, Cecil
Fielder. This is in the early stages, as you can see the pre-paint
drawing taking place -- drawing details to make later painting much
easier. I started basically with the essential outline and shapes
of the subject, then moved on to finer details, such as the
"Brewers" logo on his jersey, and the "M" on his
hat, etc. |

With these pictures,
you can see the latest work "in-progress". I've started
added some of the background coloring and shading to the right side of
the painting, and have also started working on Fielder's left arm, left
hand, and the end of the bat.
In the photo, at
right, you can see some of the detail I've already put into some of the
shading and coloring on Prince's left hand/arm.

I've started to add
some darker blue to his jersey and hat, to add some depth to the
painting. As I'm sure you can also tell, I've started to add some
detail to his face.

Here, things have
really started to "take shape" in terms of all the details
involved with shading and coloring Prince's face. I still need to
add the final pieces of shading and highlights to
his nose and right-side of his face, but the details are really
starting to show through, and I'm confident this piece will end up being
my best watercolor work so far.

As you can tell,
finally, an update! Sorry for the delays -- I've been terribly
busy trying to finish up all the details with the Ian Stewart
posters.
As I had hoped,
I've finally finished this painting. At left, and below left, you
can see the final 2 photos taken of the painting -- featuring the
finished product. Enjoy!
