"Beaumont to the Big Leagues"

12" x 16"  /  Watercolor

At left, are the first 2 photos of this painting's progress.  The first photo features only the pre-paint drawing that takes place...a lot of minor detail, but not much shading, etc., as that's put in with the paint.  In the 2nd photo, you can see that I've started to add some of the background elements, as well as some minor detail to his jersey and bat.

At left, is the "updated" photo of this painting.  As you can see, I've added quite a bit more color and shading to his jersey and hat.  I've also started to add some initial color and detail to his face.  Still a long way to go!  At right, you'll see the latest updated photo.  I've made a bit more progress with some facial detail, as well as more shading to his jersey and arms.

At left, is an updated photo.  As you can see, I've touched up some areas on his face to make some of the shadows and colors more "blended"/soft.  I've also added some more detail to the background, as well as his hands and bat.  On the right, you can see Mr. Bruce has now signed the painting in blue Sharpie.  Unfortunately, the painting's still not finished yet, but didn't want to miss the opportunity to have it autographed.

At left, you can see some of the updated details I've added to his face.  It's starting to take a better "shape" but still has a long way to go I'm afraid.  But, still coming along nicely.  At right, is my most recent update.  I've added a great deal more detail to his face and his bat.

Some updated photos to pass along.  Not a great deal of progress to show at first glance -- just mainly a lot of touching up here and there in the background, and some shading around his jersey and facial areas.  I'll try and add some new updates soon, as the painting nears "completion", finally.

Well, here's the "finished product".  You might notice that Jay's signature is gone...well, that's merely because I didn't want to reproduce his autograph, so I've "retouched" the scan in order to eliminate his sig.  Hopefully it looks okay!  Thanks again to everyone who's taken interest in this project!

Thanks to everyone who submitted their idea(s) for the title of this painting...and for voting for the winner.  Your participation is greatly appreciated!
