"Gibby & Stinky" - Acrylic Paint / 12x16 / 2004 |
|
This is a painting that's very special to me, and even just minutes after finishing it, still makes me chuckle when I see it. This work, features Gibby (me and my girlfriend's puppy) and my brother's much older and less mobile doggy -- Wrinkles, a.k.a., "Stinky". I hope this captures the moment shared between the two dogs -- a rare moment of peace, followed by more and more playing. After this picture was taken, Gibby proceeded to nibble Stinky's ears, and Stinky, in turn, pulled the 'ole Steamroller manuever to counter the ear-biting -- classic stuff. I painted this in acrylics on a canvas board, and actually went really quickly, since I didn't employ my normal attention to pain-staking detail. I feel like it's still a strong piece. I may still add some highlights, but I'm still not positive yet. But, anyways, enjoy the new painting! |
