"Carson Palmer" - cincysportsart.com

		As I discussed on my "Current Works" page -- this is a painting of Carson Palmer, starting quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, and #1 overall Draft Pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. As of right now, this painting is set to be auctioned off next summer at Mr. Palmer's golf tournament, to benefit charity. The background is still a "work in progress", but the rest of the painting is going pretty smoothly. The main areas that need work, is finishing Palmer's facial shading and features, finishing shading his throwing arm, and the final shading of his left hand and arm. Hopefully it won't take too much longer to finish this up. So, if I do add more, I'll be sure to upload some new photos of the work!
		Here are two new pictures of the painting in-progress. The first one (top right) and the picture in this row (bottom left) are almost identical . I've added some more shading to his left hand, to his helmet, and his jersey -- and have also started to add the shading on his face. The big portion left, is to finish the shading on his throwing arm, and then, just put in the finishing touches. Then, it will be ready to be auctioned off this summer, in '05. Thanks for checking out the painting, as I hope to finish it very soon! I've added some more details in the picture, at right, which is an updated photo, as you might imagine. Essentially, what is left to do, is finish the shading and highlights on his face, and to finish the shading on his throwing hand. Thanks for checking out the painting! Come back soon!
		As you can see with the picture at left, I've changed the background a bit -- brightening it up a bit with some lime green. Plus, I redid his helmet a bit, as I felt his facial features were a bit out of proportion in relation to the picture I was using. So, I kind of went back to square 1 a bit and re-worked it a bit. All that's left is adding some color to his arms and putting the final touches on his facial details. Well, I finally added most of the detail to Carson's face, and added some background touch-ups as well. The picture just below is identical to the picture at right, here...only bigger.
		I'm much happier with how his facial details turned out this time. Despite how long it took, I'm glad I went back and fixed the proportions that were distorted. All that's left now, is to add the final shading and detail to his throwing arm, add the last touches to the background, and just apply some final details to his helmet. Well...as you can see, I changed the background, "just a bit". I just felt compelled to change it and make it less complicated. I felt like it was just too busy and took too much focus away from the main subject -- Carson Palmer. I feel like this background helps to generate the focus I was looking for, a bit more efficiently.
		Well, here's the almost finished product. I just need to add the final shading and detail to his throwing hand, and I should be done.
